Here are a few ways to keep food items fresh longer to help you save money and prevent food wastage

In a bowl, mix the berries, 1 cup vinegar, and 3 cups cold water and let aside for 10 minutes. Rinse well, dry, and store in a container

Peeled garlic is best used immediately, but if there's extra, place the cloves in a covered jar with water in the fridge

Place the sliced apples in a dish with cold water and 2 tbsp salt for 5 mins. Rinse, then place in a covered container in the fridge

The idea is not to rinse the lettuce before storing it. Cover in paper towels and store in a ziploc bag. Press the air out, seal, and store

Trim the ends after washing. Thoroughly dry. Place them in a jar half-filled with water

You can place them in the fridge (they will last 1-2 weeks), but cover with a plastic bag and they will last almost a month

Put the cucumber in a jar, add 1/4 tsp baking soda, cover with cold water, and freeze. They will stay fresh and crisp for up to a week.
