Monsoon Special: Crispy Namak Para Recipe
Monsoon season is here and what’s better than enjoying a piping hot cup of chai with a crispy snack? Try this easy-peasy Namak Para recipe that you can easily make at home.
2 cup refined flour, 4 tbsp sooji, 1 tsp ajwain, 1 tsp kalonji, 4 tbsp ghee, salt as per taste and oil for frying.
Step 1-In a large bowl, add refined flour, sooji, ajwain, kalonji and salt. Mix the dry ingredients together.
Step 2-Now add ghee and mix using your hands to form a crumbly mixture.
Step 3-Add water in small amounts and knead well to form a smooth and stiff dough. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 10 minutes.
Step 4-Take one part and dust it with flour. Roll it out into a dough sheet using a rolling pin. Fold the sheet 2-3 times by greasing with some ghee and again roll it out.
Step 5-Now finally roll out into a sheet and cut out diamond-shaped pieces. You can also cut out small squares or rectangles from the sheet.
Step 6-Heat oil in a kadhai and fry the Namak Pare in batches until golden brown in colour and crispy in texture.
Your crispy and tasty Namak Pare are now ready to be served. Store them in an airtight container and they will easily last for up to two weeks.
